Ergon Headquarters Expansion Brings Over 200 Jobs to Rankin County

A major investment is taking shape in Rankin County as Ergon Inc. breaks ground on a nearly 95,000 square foot headquarters expansion that will bring more than 200 new jobs to the region. This milestone not only marks another chapter in Ergon’s remarkable legacy but also signals continued economic momentum for our community.

Founded in 1954 by Leslie Lampton Sr. with just two employees, a single fuel transport truck, and a one-room office in Jackson, Mississippi, Ergon has grown into a global company employing over 4,200 people worldwide, with more than 1,200 of those employees working in Mississippi. The company’s continued commitment to the state and Rankin County underscores its deep roots and vision for long-term growth.

This expansion is more than a building. It’s a story of local collaboration and bold vision. The project brings together a team of Mississippi-based partners, including Dale Partners Architects, Alliant Construction, and Blackline Studio. Their shared goal is to create a state-of-the-art facility that reflects Ergon’s leadership in the petroleum and energy industry while also investing in the people who power it.

For Rankin County, the benefits are wide-reaching. The influx of high-quality jobs will strengthen the local workforce and support economic mobility for families across the region. The expansion also sends a clear signal to prospective businesses and investors that Rankin County is a place where companies can grow, innovate, and thrive.

As we celebrate this significant development, we’re reminded of what makes Rankin County special — a business-friendly climate, strong partnerships, and a community built on progress. This project is a proud example of what happens when strategic vision meets hometown commitment.

We look forward to watching this project unfold and to welcoming the new employees and opportunities it brings.

Welcome home, Ergon
