Why is Momentum 2030 Needed?
Momentum 2030 is needed to expand the role of the private sector in shaping the future of Rankin County. Today, only four percent of Rankin First’s funding comes from private investment, which limits our ability to compete for industry, support existing businesses, and prepare for long term growth. The goal of Momentum 2030 is to increase private investment to fifteen percent, giving our business community a stronger voice, increasing our ability to plan ahead, and allowing Rankin First to move from simply responding to opportunities to actively creating them. With greater private involvement, we can strengthen our workforce, improve our competitiveness, and secure a stronger economic future for every company in Rankin County.
