Rankin First recently had the pleasure of celebrating a major milestone in regional transportation and economic development at the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority’s (JMAA) “Boots & Blues” event. The occasion marked the official launch of Southwest Airlines’ new daily nonstop flight from Jackson Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) to Nashville, Tennessee.
Hosted by JMAA and CEO Rosa Beckett, the celebration brought together local leaders, business partners, and community stakeholders in a spirited event underscoring the importance of connectivity to economic opportunity.
This new route is more than just a convenient travel option for residents. It represents an important advancement for the Jackson Metro area and Rankin County’s continued growth. Enhanced air service opens doors for increased tourism, business travel, and corporate investment. As accessibility improves, so do the chances of attracting new industries, hosting regional events, and showcasing all that our area has to offer.
Air service development plays a key role in economic development, and Rankin First is proud to support initiatives that elevate the region’s visibility and competitiveness. The new JAN to Nashville flight is a clear step forward in building a stronger, more connected Mississippi.
We’re excited to see the momentum taking flight and to keep working together to create new opportunities for Rankin County and beyond.
