The Rankin County School District prides itself on helping students achieve academic success that prepares them to thrive once they enter the workforce. Multiple career pathway options are also provided, including career academies and technical education programs at the high school level as well as at the Pearl-Rankin Career Technical Center.
Pearl-Rankin Career Technical Center
The Pearl-Rankin Career Technical Center offers 15 career programs of study, preparing students for entry-level positions in their occupational field or placement into post-secondary education. They have been recognized as being the state’s best career and technical center in the state.
Hinds Community College
Hinds Community College offers a wide range of career-focused programs designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed for specific occupations. These programs align with local industry needs and provide hands-on training to prepare students for the workforce.
Build Mississippi
Build Mississippi, a non-profit, that focuses on promoting careers, recruiting capable individuals and training a quality workforce for the construction industry in Mississippi. Build Mississippi is guided by a board comprised of representatives from nine trade associations. MEF is heavily programed in schools across Mississippi, including a state-of-the-art training facility in Rankin County.
