More than $6 million in planned enhancements will prepare the site for future investment and long term growth in Pearl
Rankin First has been awarded one of the largest site development grants in Mississippi this year through Governor Tate Reeves and the Mississippi Development Authority. This major investment will support the next phase of improvements at the West Rankin Industrial Park, a key location for future industry and job creation.
Rankin First received $4.8 million through the MDA Site Development Grant Program and will provide a local match, bringing the total project value to more than $6 million. This funding will support significant site readiness work, including:
- Clearing and grubbing, which is already underway
- Stormwater detention improvements
- Preliminary site grading
- Pad readiness for future buildings
- Internal access roads
These improvements will elevate the competitiveness of the West Rankin Industrial Park, making the site more visible and attractive to companies considering Rankin County for expansion or relocation. The work aligns with the statewide effort to prepare more project ready industrial sites that can support high quality economic development projects.
“This investment positions Rankin County for new opportunities and long term growth,” said Rankin First Assistant Director Regina Todd. “By preparing this site now, we are making room for the next major employer to choose our community.”
The grant is part of a larger statewide initiative announced by Governor Tate Reeves that invests more than $100 million in site development and economic development projects across Mississippi. The program is designed to help communities strengthen infrastructure, improve industrial sites, and create the conditions needed to attract private investment.
Work on the West Rankin Industrial Park is already progressing, and additional phases will continue throughout the coming year. As the site advances toward full readiness, Rankin First will use these improvements to market the location to prospective industries and site selectors seeking a competitive location in the Southeast.
